Efficiency Gains :
Say each computer user in an organisation is able to do an extra 15 minutes of work per day as a result of the improvements in performance of their computers after our maintenance services.
This equates to about 5 hours of extra work per month.
The average staff/team member costs an organisation about $30 per hour (taking into account wages, office space, and other overheads). This amount is even more for senior staff and management.
So the savings per month is $30 x 5 hours = $150 per month per staff/team member.
In an organisation with 3 computer users, that's a savings of 3 x $30 x 5 hours = $450 per month.
In an organisation with 10 computer users, that's a savings of 10 x $30 x 5 hours = $1500 per month.
In an organisation with 50 computer users, that's a savings of 50 x $30 x 5 hours = $7500 per month.
And this is just part of the direct costs saved.
Productivity Gains :
Then there is the productivity gain of what the staff/team member can achieve in additional sales, income or work.
Say a sales person or executive is able to bring-in $50 of nett income for every hour they work. If they could save an extra 5 hours per month through a better performing IT system, and spend this time in making more sales, then the additional profit would be $50 x 5 hours = $250 per month per sales person.
If they earned the organisation $100 per hour, then this would mean $500 per month additional profit per sales person or executive.
IT Manager's Time Loss :
The time spent by the designated person responsible for computers and attending to IT queries, fixing problems and resolving issues could be significant. Studies have shown that on average this person will spend about an hour per month per staff/team-member on IT-related issues.
Based on an average cost of $30 per hour, for a 3-user organisation, that's $30 x 3 users x 1 hour = $90 per month.
IT Company Fees :
And of course the Service Fees paid for the repairs, support and on-going maintenance of an organisation's computers and ICT infrastructure is another factor. As a general rule-of-thumb, depending on the size of an organisation, and the level of assistance needed, this ranges from about $20 to $100 per month per computer user, or about $60 on average.
